40 Hawke’s Bay Dishes in 40 Dining Days

Whether you’re a believer or not, Lent has just started. Lent is generally a religious time that mirrors when Jesus spent forty days fasting in the desert before the beginning of his public ministry, where he endured temptation by Satan. Lent is increasingly being observed by other denominations as well. We will observe Lent by making sure we don’t have a bad meal for 40 days. Join us by observing Lent. Below are 40 great dishes we have enjoyed over the last year.

Most of these should still be available at these restaurants. If you’d like to double check first, you can tweet and ask the ones that are on twitter. There are some great restaurants out there who now even take bookings by twitter. Not on twitter? Get setup here in 2 minutes. If the dish in this review isn’t available, you can be pretty sure that it will have been replaced with something just as good. I don’t think it’s too far a stretch to say that Hawke’s Bay is now the gourmet dining destination region of New Zealand

If you are observing Lent the traditional way, hopefully we’ll see you out again on the 7th April.
