Emporium Eatery and Bar is now open

Press Release for Emporium Eatery and Bar in Napier

Napier’s newest and hippest eatery and bar is to open its doors and welcome the curious and the patient from September 18. Locals and visitors to the city have been waiting politely for this exciting new hotspot to open, having undergone a serious renovation during the past 2 – 3 months, and the wait is almost over.

From the 18th, we’ll all have the chance to get in and see exactly what owners Neil Barber and Craig Hay, with the help of reputed restaurant designer Tom Skyring, have done with this special building. Emporium, in Marine Parade’s iconic Masonic Hotel building will begin serving delicious all-day sharing plates, coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner – and by the look of the menu, it will all be well worth the wait.

Along with its design and menus, Emporium leads the field with its beverage list. An enormous range of beers, wines and cocktails is available, and includes some firsts for Hawke’s Bay. Bar manager Shaye Bird comments that Emporium will also be the first establishment in New Zealand to sell Steinlager Pure on tap – with the first two taps off the production line already installed in the bar. He’s also looking forward to having the range of James Squire (Australian craft beer) in tap – a first for Hawke’s Bay. Wine on tap is also on offer – and not the way you’ve had it before. At Emporium, you can order house Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Noir blended by Marlborough’s Wither Hills as a glass, a 500ml carafe or a 1lt carafe. Some top-shelf wines by glass or tasting measure are also reasons to swing in to Emporium for your after work quiet one.

Stop by for your morning coffee and make the most of the Emporium loyalty club while you get an authentic Art Deco start to the day, along with the friendly service from experienced staff. Make an occasion of lunch or dinner with friends and family – the menu and wine list are exceptional and sure to impress the most discerning diner. Or opt for the all-day option, sure to become a Hawke’s Bay institution as sunny days are wiled away over shared plates and fine beverages.

  • Here are a few teasers to whet the appetite:
  • Mini lamb merguez sausage hot dogs with harissa mayonnaise + garlic labneh
  • Master stock braised ham hock spring rolls + chilli jam
  • Quinoa croquettes with Hohepa herb quark, pickled beetroot + toasted pumpkin seeds
  • Chinese barbecued duck with Asian herb salad, peanuts + Damson plum dressing

And this is with no mention of the delicious pizzas, platters, sweet treats and full main meals. The menu needs to be experienced to be properly enjoyed – and so does the new fit out. Time to gather the troops and check out Napier’s newest and Art Deco’s finest, Emporium on Marine Parade. Open from September 18.
